Wall Stickers

Smallable is a design and fashion brand suitable for 0-16 years but this doesn't stop me from appreciating these wall stickers by Inke Heiland. What an excellent way to jazz up a kiddies wall...

Snippets of still life...

Here are some of my still life drawings. I have mostly used oil pastels but also mixed these with ink, collage and acrylic paints. The first one is my favourite.

Garden Parties X

The summer is fast approaching and I can't wait. During the summer months my family and I spend lots of time outside in the garden and of course we have many barbecues throughout this season. It's my favourite time of year.

Rebecca Newport

Rebecca Newport is a freelance stylist for interiors, still life, life style and food props for categories to include magazines, brochures and online promotions. After studying textiles design at Chelsea College of Art she worked as a retail fashion and homeware buyer.  Her specialty is colour and pattern and I simply adore the pieces she manages to source. I think Rebecca does a fantastic job of finding innovative ways of putting these items together.

Weave

Here are my creative weave samples. I really enjoyed learning to weave but I am glad I specialized in print at university because otherwise I would really miss painting and mixing colours. I put a variety of yarns through to include netting and newspaper. The loom took a while to set up but once the warp was on I could begin the fun part.

Dear Carrot Cake..

I worked really hard this weekend and paid a little trip to Waitrose with my housemate to buy some cake which really motivated us. I am so grateful for the little treats in life that keep us happy.

Macrame

This weekend I had a go at Macrame. It's a really busy time of year for the 3rd year fashion students at Bath School of Art and Design and so I've been trying to help out. I was approached by fashion student Emma Tee who needed some help with Macrame. Below are some of her beautiful samples. Macrame is a form of textile making using knotting apparently crafted by sailors as a means of decorating.

Below is my sample. I was really happy to help and I gained a new skill as well as a very sweet Thank You card. I am really excited to see the show in June.

Here is the dress the Macrame is intended for to cover the models chest area.

I really like this vintage style collection of transport for London prints. They are available to purchase at one of my favourite shops Bloomsbury & Co
